“I have been visiting The Deanery Care Home to take a Church of England service once a month for several years now. I look forward to coming, knowing that there will be a warm welcome from residents and staff – and that I shall be coming into a happy atmosphere.”

Mrs Angela Comfort, OBE -

“I have been sharing my Music for Health workshops with the residents for four years, and it’s always been a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The conservatory has an atmosphere that’s relaxed and inviting and is the perfect setting for all the activities that take place, and the layout of the room allows entertainment to take place while residents can either take part or join in some craft activity or perhaps sit quietly and read. Residents are very fortunate to have Jackie and Fran who work to stimulate and encourage activity.

I admire the home and its beautiful well kept surroundings with many nice areas to enjoy. Well done to all staff who help to give residents a deserved quality of life.”

Anastasia Cole - Local director of Music of Health

“Dear Jane,
Just a little note carrying a big thank you to you and your staff for making my dad’s 90th birthday ‘do’ so special. He really was surprised – all the family turned up to see him, and some old friends he hadn’t seen for many years. I would like to thank you and your staff for everything you did to facilitate the whole event. The food your chef and kitchen staff provided was of such a high standard and everyone was very impressed. Many of those attending had never been to The Deanery before and were fill of praise for the premises (‘not like anything we’ve seen before’) and we all loved the function room. So … I really wanted you to know that praise was the word on Sunday!”

Julia Sherry - Daughter of a resident

“Each and every time I visit the home either through meeting residents, talking with the staff or as part of a visit with members of the congregation for a service, I have always been impressed by the dedication of the staff, and the care and love they show the residents. No home is perfect, but it is evident to me that all of the staff are working incredibly hard everyday to work towards being as good as possible for the residents and their visiting family and friends.”

Rob Reid - Church Minister

“My mum has been at The New Deanery for four years and has been looked after by a caring staff for all that time.

She came after a spell at Broomfield hospital and asked to stay at The New Deanery – she did not want to go back home. This says it all about the care and attention she has been given.

Each and every member of staff who have looked after her during her time here cannot be praised highly enough.”

C Barnard - Son of a resident
