Residents and staff at St Mary’s Court and The New Deanery residential care homes, near Braintree, enjoyed music from the 40’s through to the 00’s when multi tribute act Recollections provided entertainment for all.

Family and friends joined residents as Saul Watts and Pollie Hall from the tribute act filled The New Deanery’s stunning 10 acre gardens with hits from the likes of Elvis Presley, John Travolta, Olivia Newton John, Amy Winehouse and many more.

Jo Crosby, Head of Activities at The New Deanery and St Mary’s Court, said: “The day was such great fun. We were up and dancing our way through the decades and everyone had smiles on their faces.

“We always hold lots of fun events for our residents and love it when their friends and family join us too.”

Gwen Parker, a relative of a resident at The New Deanery, enjoyed the event, she said: “It’s great when there is entertainment like this, it’s such fun to listen to live music and have a dance. The team does such a great job to ensure there’s lots for the residents to do.”

Activities at the New Deanery and St Mary’s Court were praised in an independent survey commissioned by owners Sonnet Care Homes, with 100% of relatives and 96% of residents describing the activities as sufficient and varied.
